The design spans from the holographic color of the spandex used on these shoes, which has different hues of gold and brown. To further push the highlights, I used dark brown for the canvas as contrast, blue in the suede, and liner as complementary colors. The color of the quilting thread is dark forest green. The actual design of the quilt started on the heel, as a circle, which then expanded further out, losing its curvature. Similar to a drop of water hitting the surface of a puddle.
